Williams, Bernadette Helene Berthe Dusailly

 

    A native of Paris, France, and a long time resident of Asheville, NC,

Bernadette Dusailly Williams passed away on November 20 at UNC Hospitals

while awaiting a liver transplant. Williams came to Asheville,

NC in the 1960's after receiving her baccalaureate degree from La Sorbonne in

Paris. She later graduated with a BA from UNC Asheville and taught French,

served as a travel agent, and worked as a translator for the American Red

Cross, and other companies in the area. Active in the community, Williams

was involved with the Asheville French Club, Home and Garden Club of

Asheville, Sister Cities International and served on numerous boards,

      Williams was preceded in death by her parents, Jean and Helene Dusailly of

Paris, France.  Her father was a prominent scientist, and was a member

of the French Legion of Honor. She is survived by her husband,  Mark Williams

of Asheville, NC, and brother Gerard Dusailly, of Clamart, France. Other

survivors include her children, Frederick Farzanegan of Raleigh, NC and Claire

Farzanegan Moss of Wake Forest, NC and grandchildren, Danielle Farzanegan and

Conrad Xavier Moss.

      Williams will be buried in her family cemetery, Pere Lachaise, in Paris,

France, following a funeral Mass at Saint Joseph in Clamart, France.

      The family will receive family and friends at the Parrish of St. Eugene in

Asheville, NC for the celebration of a memorial service on Friday, December

12, 2003 at 4:00 pm.  In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made, in memory of
